Trick or Treat? 7 Halloween Treats Your Dog Will Actually Want

Halloween isn’t just for humans. While we’re stocking up on candy, carving pumpkins, and picking out costumes, our dogs are probably wondering when they get a treat too.

Human candy is off the menu, but that doesn’t mean your pup has to miss out on trick-or-treating.

Here are 7 spooky, dog-friendly Halloween treats you can make at home!

1. Jack-O’-Lantern Pup Pops 🎃

Turn pumpkin into your dog’s version of a Halloween popsicle!

Mix together:

  • Plain pumpkin puree
  • Plain Greek yogurt
  • A little mashed banana

Freeze the mixture in a pumpkin-shaped silicone mold for an adorable little Jack-O’-Lantern treat.

You can also freeze the mix in our Pup Pop frozen treat toy that doubles as enrichment playtime!

Pumpkin + frozen treat + Play Plus = one happy trick-or-treater.

2. Ghost Bites 👻

These little frozen ghosts are almost too cute to eat.

Almost.

Mix plain Greek yogurt with mashed banana and pour the mixture into a ghost-shaped silicone mold.

Add two tiny blueberries for the eyes before freezing.

Pop them out of the mold and you’ve got your own little army of dog-friendly ghosts.

BOO! 👻

3. Candy Corn Pup Cups 🍬

Your dog can finally have their own version of Halloween candy.

Layer three dog-friendly ingredients in a small cup or mold:

White: Plain Greek yogurt

Orange: Pumpkin puree

Yellow: Mashed banana

Freeze each layer before adding the next one to create the classic candy corn look.

No actual candy required.

4. Frankenstein Frozen Treats 🧟

It’s alive!

Blend a small amount of dog-safe green ingredient, such as mashed peas, with plain Greek yogurt and freeze it in a square silicone mold.

Once frozen, add tiny blueberry eyes and a little peanut butter “hair.”

It might not be the prettiest Frankenstein you’ve ever seen, but your dog definitely won’t care.

5. Monster Eyeballs 👁️

These might be the creepiest treats on the list.

Drop a blueberry into a small round silicone mold and cover it with plain Greek yogurt.

Freeze until solid.

When you pop them out, the blueberry in the center makes each frozen bite look like a spooky little eyeball staring back at you.

Your dog’s solution?

Eat the evidence.

6. Pumpkin Patch Bites 🎃🌿

Create your dog’s own miniature pumpkin patch.

Mix plain pumpkin puree with a little mashed banana and spoon the mixture into mini pumpkin molds.

Freeze until solid.

For the finishing touch, add a tiny piece of dog-safe green bean as the pumpkin “stem.”

Now your pup can officially go pumpkin picking without leaving the kitchen.

7. The Halloween Treat Plus Monster 👹

This one is made specifically for a spooky Play Plus enrichment session.

Fill your Pup Pop toy mold with layers of:

  • Pumpkin puree
  • Plain Greek yogurt
  • Mashed banana
  • Blueberries
  • A few pieces of kibble

Freeze everything together.

Once frozen, give it to your dog and let them lick, chew, and work their way through the different layers.

The best part? Your dog gets a Halloween treat and something to do.

Happy Howl-o-ween! 🎃🐾

Your dog may not be able to eat from the trick-or-treat bowl, but that doesn’t mean they have to miss Halloween.

From Ghost Bites and Monster Eyeballs to Candy Corn Pup Cups and Jack-O’-Lantern Pup Pops, there are plenty of ways to make Halloween just as fun for your pup.

Just remember to introduce new foods in moderation and make sure ingredients are appropriate for your individual dog. If you're using peanut butter, always check that it is xylitol-free.

So break out the costumes, grab the pumpkin puree, and get ready for a spooky night.

No tricks. Just treats. 🎃🐾
